Entrepreneur & Coach

My passion for business started young. My grandfather ran his own accounting business working with SME’s in western Sydney, Australia. I spent many of my vacation days going with him to visit clients and sitting in his office as he explained financial statements to me. He was the one who first introduced me to the idea that you don’t need to have a great idea, you just need to be really good at it. This time also ignited a passion for business ownership within me and sent me down the path of learning how to run a business.

Skip forward a few years. I’m taking business at university and meet a beautiful Canadian. Impulsively I decide to follow her back to Canada (even though my plan was to go to England) and find myself in Vancouver with $700 in my pocket during the worst job market in the last 20 years. So I take the only real option available to me at the time, a call centre job with a company I’d never heard of, 1-800-Got-Junk?. As it turned out this company was the place I would get to learn to run a business, among many other things;

Grown Revenue

  • Every organization I have worked with has grown faster during my tenor than it did before it.

  • Strategy execution & Organizational Alignment

  • Continuous Improvement

  • Operational Planning & Analytics

  • Process excellence & Quality programs

  • Leadership & Team Building

  • Organizational Development

Experience in Home Services, Capital Markets, Professional Services, Venture (funds and incubators), Franchise, Hospitality, Film/Television Production, Trades

  • Senior leader in team that took business from $0-$24m in 4 years

  • Won franchise of the year in hyper growth organisation

During my career I have had the opportunity to work with, advise, consult and speak to 100’s of business leaders. The ones that build amazing businesses share these four things;

  1. Have a good strategy (doesn’t have to be great)

  2. Execute relentlessly

  3. Acquire and retain the very best people

  4. Focus their whole business round their customers

So that’s what I work on both in the businesses I own and with my clients.
